Do you know someone with hearing difficulties that has done inspirational things?

If so, we need your help!

The Sound Barrier Star Awards 2012 has begun its annual search for heroes andheroines who are hard of hearing or deaf.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Specsavers Hearing Centres have joined forces to track down individuals who have gone that extra mile to achieve success, in spite ofthe challenges which come with impaired hearing.

Dancing on Ice Star and Dallas actress, Charlene Tilton is the face of this year’s campaign after she revealed she has suffered from hearing loss since childhood.

With Charlene’s help, ten regional winners will be chosen from around the UK,  five of whom will be sent to the national final in London in August 2012.

The winner will receive a full-board summer holiday for two to sizzling Sardinia in a package which includes flights with British Airways as well as a £1,500Specsavers Hearing Centres voucher.

Regional winners will walk away with a £250 Specsavers Hearing Centres voucher, a £100 Mark Warner holiday voucher, goody bag and a trophy.

For every eligible entry received by May 31, 2012, Specsavers will donate £5 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
